“The Mermaid Prince: The Beginning” has shared a new look at the cast ahead of the web drama’s premiere!
As a prequel to “The Mermaid Prince,” “The Mermaid Prince: The Beginning” will take viewers back in time to Woo Hyuk’s (ASTRO’s Moonbin’s) high school days in order to uncover a secret. As opposed to the mysterious, dreamy Woo Hyuk that viewers saw in the original “The Mermaid Prince,” Moonbin will be playing a far more mischievous teenage version of the character in the upcoming prequel.
With its high school setting, the drama will also portray an entirely different kind of romance from that of the original series. “The Mermaid Prince: The Beginning” will tell the love story that ensues when Jo Ara, a high school student who decides to give up on dating because she doesn’t believe in love (played by Chae Won Bin), ends up meeting Woo Hyuk.
On November 4, new posters of the drama’s characters were revealed. Moonbin, Chae Won Bin, SF9’s Hwiyoung, Moon Sang Min, Yun Seo Bin, Jung Bo Min, and Yoo Na Gyeol look picture-perfect in their school uniforms.
The characters’ positions as they pose next to one another inside the classroom hints at their connections. Chae Won Bin is flanked by Moonbin and Hwiyoung while Yoo Na Gyeol leans toward Moonbin, previewing the relationships among their four characters.
The next image portrays Jung Bo Min’s and Yun Seo Bin’s characters showing off their own chemistry as a couple.
In another poster, Moonbin’s speech bubble reads, “Don’t like me!” Chae Won Bin’s character responds, “Stop dreaming.”
“The Mermaid Prince: The Beginning” premieres on November 11.
